While I was home for a few weeks from the Peace Corps, my good friend John Simpkins gave me an incredible gift by inviting me to come to Tampa Bay with he and his girlfriend and watch Michigan play Florida in the Outback Bowl. Not only did he invite me, but he paid for my flight and accommodation, as I was a poor Peace Corps volunteer We had a great time at the game, and a blast on New Year's eve as well. |

After almost one and a half years outside of the United States, I returned to Michigan to spend Christmas with my family. This page is a collection of some of the photographs from my daily life as a Peace Corps volunteer in 2002. Unfortunately, I lost thousands of pictures from this year when my computer's hard drive was ruined, so much of what is most memorable has been lost. |

Pre-Service Training for EC69 in St. Vincent After completing three to four weeks of training in St. Lucia, new Peace Corps volunteers travel to their island of service, where they move in with local families and begin the home stay experience. Part of this process is continued training on their island of service, with three weekend training sessions over the course of three weeks. These photos are from the PST sessions in St. Vincent that EC69 took part in. |

Pre-Service Training for EC69 in St. Lucia When I went through training to be a Peace Corps volunteer, the first part of training was called Pre-Service Training (PST), which was held in St. Lucia over the course of three and a half weeks. After one year of service, I was chosen by the training staff in the Caribbean to work as a volunteer trainer responsible for the technical training of the Information Technology sector. It was a great experience for me, and I spent four weeks in St. Lucia working with a new group of volunteers. Besides the work that I did as a trainer, I also was able to entertain a visit from John Davis, and as usual we managed to have several interesting adventures. |

Vincy Mas 2002 marked the first carnival for me in SVG. Having experienced the internationally lauded Trinidad Carnival in February, I was interested to see how the local version would compare. My sister and her best friend Caroline came down for 10 days right as carnival was kicking into high gear, which made for a whole lot of fun. We spent most of carnival hanging out with my friend Lian and his girlfriend Alex, as well as Alex's sister Roxie, whom we were all meeting for the first time. As it turns out, Vincy Mas was a whole lot better than Trinidad Carnival. |
